Primary Cover Supervisor
Area: Congleton
Contract: Fixed Term (1 year) with the view of being made permanent
Start: January 2025
Pay: Dependent on experience
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Primary Cover Supervisor to join a highly reputable Multi-Academy Trust in Congleton from January 2025. This is a full-time, one-year fixed-term role with the potential to transition to a permanent position, depending on performance and the needs of the school.
As a Primary Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes across the primary age range in the absence of the usual class teacher. You will ensure that pupils are engaged with the pre-set work and maintain a positive learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with strong communication skills, a passion for education, and the ability to inspire and support primary-aged children.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise classes of primary school children in the absence of their usual class teacher.
2. Ensure that students remain engaged with work set by the teacher.
3. Manage classroom behavior to maintain a focused and respectful learning environment.
4. Provide additional support to students as needed, including assisting with learning activities.
5. Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents where necessary.
6. Maintain high expectations for student behavior and achievement.
7. Assist in the preparation of teaching resources and materials when required.
Key Requirements:
1. Experience working with children in an educational setting (preferably within a primary school).
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to manage and support a classroom of primary-aged children.
4. Good organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
5. A positive attitude and a passion for supporting children's learning and development.
6. A flexible and proactive approach to tasks.
7. A commitment to the ethos and values of the Multi-Academy Trust.
8. A relevant qualification (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
9. Enhanced DBS check required (the school will facilitate this process).
