Teaching Assistant Apprentice Grade 3
Job Start Date: 2nd June after successful DBS
Contract Length (end date): Initially 18 month fixed term contract
Apprenticeship wage of £7.50 per hour for 12 months, then increases to National living wage for the remaining 8 months.
32.5 hours per week:
* Monday to Thursday: 8:40-12:30, 1:00-3:10
* Friday: 8:40-12:30, 1:00-5:15

This is a wonderful opportunity to work within a school while gaining a qualification. We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant Apprentice (TA), including midday supervisor duties. This appointment is to support a wonderful child on a 1:1 basis and to offer interventions as a group of targeted children to achieve their learning potential.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join our team at Cropthorne with Charlton CE First School. In this role, you will work closely with our class teachers to support the learning and development of our pupils, with a particular focus on those with special educational needs and disabilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
* Promote pupils' independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion
* Provide support to pupils 1:1, individually or in groups, to help them access the curriculum, participate in learning, and experience a sense of achievement
* Support children in achieving their SEND targets set by the class teacher or SENCO, including 1:1 or group work
* Support Forest school sessions
* Assist with midday supervision duties, ensuring a safe and positive environment for our pupils during their lunch break
We are looking for someone with:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
* Commitment to supporting the diverse needs of all learners
* Relevant qualifications in education or a related field (desirable)
* Experience of working with children (this can include voluntary roles or work experience)
