An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our newly established Bures Ward, a highly skilled and versatile virtual team that will support patient care across the Colchester hospital site.
We are currently recruiting an experienced nurse leader to help establish a brand new team for a 12-month pilot project. Bures Ward will aim to play a pivotal role in supporting adult clinical areas and responding to operational demands, ensuring our wards and departments receive the support they need when they need it most. There is scope for this ward to grow following a successful pilot.
This role will involve providing specialist review of patients requiring Enhanced Therapeutic observations and coordinating its delivery.
You will need experience working across a variety of acute clinical areas to lead a ward of nursing and support staff who you will help upskill. Previous experience in managing staffing as a bleep holder or coordinator and managing skill mix will be essential to helping you establish Bures Ward as a valuable staffing resource for Colchester site.
Main duties of the job
The applicant must have an ability to think flexibly and creatively. They should also have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to organise and prioritise staffing resources to manage clinical risk. They should be an effective, approachable leader with a history of managing change and developing a safety culture.

You will have management responsibility for a team of rotational ward nurses and support workers and will have specific responsibility for providing professional support and specialist nursing advice.

* To work with the site team to provide support to meet operational demands.

* Previous Experience at Band 6 within an acute setting.
