Quantity Surveyor | £negotiable | Outside IR35 | City of London Rate: Day rate is negotiable based on experience and is outside IR35 Location: 2 days from client office in Blackfriars and 3 days from sites across southern England Contract Duration: Initial 6 months We’re working with a West-Midlands based consultancy who have secured a large portfolio of rail upgrade works, and as such need an experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee projects valued between £500k - £5m from start to finish Working on the Southern Integrated Delivery (SID) framework; the scheme will revolutionise rail upgrades with efficient, sustainable solutions. It modernises tracks, signals, and electrification, improves safety at level crossings, and refurbishes key structures. Focused on reliability, accessibility, and environmental goals, SID uses innovative partnerships to deliver a safer, greener, and more efficient railway for passengers and the economy. This is a long term contract with the opportunity for further work across the business which could include further high-profile rail projects. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing small projects valued between £500k and £5m. Responsibilities will include placing orders, producing cost plans, administering subcontracts, and closing out supply chain accounts with minimal supervision. The roles will also involve managing and mentoring junior team members while being very hands-on with the commercial aspects of the projects.
