Salaried GP - Newly Qualified (PCN ARRS Role)
We have an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified GP (within 2 years of qualification) to join our team as a PCN General Medical Practitioner. Initially on a fixed term contract until the end of March 2025.
You would be required to work 4 sessions per week across Bloomfield Medical Centre and Waterloo Medical Centre.
If it is less than two years since you qualified and you have not been substantively employed within a GP practice since that date, this fulfilling role could be for you.

The Waterloo Medical Centre is well established in the community and has a patient population of over 12000 patients. The practice consists of 5 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA, 1 Nursing Associate, 1 Physiotherapist, 2 Pharmacists, 1 Pharmacy Technician and 12 Admin/Reception staff. We are a busy friendly forward thinking practice. Waterloo Medical Centre is a training practice that has 2 GP Registrars.
Bloomfield Medical Centre is an 8 Partner GP Practice Primary Care provider based over two sites in Blackpool, Bloomfield Medical Centre on Bloomfield Road and Grange Park Health Centre on Dinmore Avenue. Our services are diverse, forward-thinking enabling us to deliver care to meet local priorities in relation to deprivation, chronic disease, improved access, migration from secondary care and more efficient commissioning.
We provide high quality general medical care to a registered list of over 16,000 patients over the two sites, through our dedicated team of clinical, administrative and management professionals including 8 GP Partners, Salaried doctors, Clinical Pharmacists, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.
Job responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities:
* Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
* Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
* Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
* Providing counselling and health education.
* In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home/community settings, checking, and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, and correspondence in a timely fashion.
* Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
* Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
* Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).
* Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
* In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care, including participation in the Duty Team on call arrangements.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* The applicant must be a qualified GP with full GMC registration licence to practice, on a performers list and have a UK drivers licence.
Experience
* Experience of working in a GP practice using EMIS.
