Quality Engineer Role Overview:
The Quality Engineer is tasked with designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance processes to enhance product and service quality. Responsibilities include conducting final product inspections, supporting customer acceptance visits, and addressing quality issues to drive continuous improvement.
Quality Engineer Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement QA strategies to meet regulatory and industry standards.
* Analyse processes to identify inefficiencies, reduce defects, and enhance performance. Recommend and implement improvements to achieve consistent quality.
* Execute tests to evaluate product/service performance. Document results, identify defects, and apply corrective actions.
* Assess supplier quality and ensure materials meet established standards. Collaborate to resolve quality issues and foster supplier development.
* Track and reduce issues related to product quality.
* Maintain records of quality activities, including test results and corrective measures.
* Provide guidance to teams on QA practices and tools.
* Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Quality Engineer Skills/Competencies:
* Expertise in quality assurance/control and methodologies
* Proficient in Quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, TS/ITAF 16949
* Familiarity with testing tools, quality management software
* Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Attention to detail and organisational skills for documentation and reporting.
* Experience with project management and cross-functional teamwork.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
* Adaptability to evolving technologies and industry standards.
