We are seeking a dynamic and experienced School Business Manager to provide strategic leadership and management of its support staff, optimising resource allocation to achieve a school in Birmingham educational objectives Working as a key member of the Senior Team, the School Business Manager will play a vital role in supporting the Head Teacher and realising the school's vision. Key Responsibilities: Provide professional leadership and management of school support staff (School Office, Finance Administration, Site Management and Caretaker, Cleaners, Technicians, and Catering Team). Manage the school's Financial Resource Management, Administration Management, Management Information and ICT, Human Resource Management, Facility & Property Management, and Health & Safety Management. Attend Senior Management/Leadership Team, full Governing Body, and relevant Governor sub-committee meetings. Negotiate and influence strategic decision-making within the school's Senior Management/Leadership Team. In the absence of the Head Teacher, take delegated responsibility for financial and other decisions. Plan and manage change in accordance with the school development/strategic plan. Evaluate information and prepare a realistic and balanced budget. Manage the whole school administrative function and lead all support staff. Oversee the school's Management Information Systems and ICT strategy. Manage payroll services, pension schemes, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for HR. Ensure the safe maintenance and security operation of all school premises. Act as the school's Health & Safety Coordinator and Fire Officer. Who We're Looking For: Proven experience in a school business management role. Strong financial management skills and experience in budget preparation and monitoring. Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff. Comprehensive knowledge of school administration, HR, ICT, facilities management, and health & safety. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with relevant software and systems.
