Due to internal promotion our fabulous Elmbridge Retirement Village based in Cranleigh, Surrey is looking for a Deputy Manager to lead overall operations.
This is a senior role within the management team and the successful candidate will actively manage and continue to build relationships with our residents and customers from the wider community. They will provide an excellent customer experience throughout the village, managing all aspects of the village operations including leading our teams, driving hospitality and ensuring the care and wellbeing of our residents.
What will the Deputy Manager be doing?
Leading People
* Support our village team to deliver a high standard of work and continuous improvement; building the confidence and capability of the team to make sound operational decisions.
* Develop your own capabilities by participating in development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching to deliver business excellence and achieve your own personal potential.
Driving the Business
* Assist the General Manager in implementing the Asset Business Plan and operational delivery plans for the allocated business areas.
* Identify and communicate the actions needed to meet Retirement Villages Group strategy and business plan for the allocated business areas.
* Set team operational priorities and targets; analyse performance and motivate people to deliver operational excellence
* Define revenue goals, manage the staffing budget and deliver an excellent service - managing costs effectively against these targets.
* As part of the village leadership team, you will participate in the development of village operating plans and proposals, contributing creative ideas and insights to support business development.
* Represents Retirement Villages Group professionally in a range of local forums and helps to deliver effective resident and customer communications, promoting the brand effectively.
Driving Hospitality Excellence
* Provide an excellent customer experience throughout operational delivery, leading by example to manage and deepen Resident and customer relationships.
* Create an environment where our residents are at the heart of village life, where they feel appreciated, engaged and empowered to live their best lives.
* Identify and manage a broad range of stakeholders
* Lead the development of the hospitality offer and events
* Develop, train and uphold service standards
Ensuring the Care and Wellbeing of our Residents
* Support the team to provide a comprehensive programme of events that engage and excite residents, optimising revenue through external sales and memberships.
* Ensures adequate, effective and qualified emergency response is always available.
Requirements
What are we looking for in our successful candidate?
* Proven track record in leading multi departmental operations within a similar environment or hospitality or leisure sector
* Confident in leading diverse teams in absence of the General Manager
* Planning and prioritising work to meet commitments
* Building strong Resident and customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions
* Experience in operational project management within hospitality
