To complete pre-planned maintenance and service of electrical equipment and engineering services within the Trust’s Establishments.
A team member of a multi-disciplined workforce and resource undertaking work associated with engineering plant, building fabric and equipment to the estate within the Trust’s Establishments. Follow departmental and Trusts operating policies and procedures guided by building and Health & Safety Regulations, when undertaking this role work closely with the Estates Officer, but capable of working independently without regular supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
1. To undertake planned and reactive maintenance.
2. To be responsible for tools, plant and materials which are used within the scope of the Estates Department.
3. To ensure that safety procedures are observed in the use of Plant Equipment, Materials, working procedures and ensure that a safe working environment is always maintained in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
4. To work outside his/her trade in the event of any emergency or as directed by the Estates Officer/Head of Estates/On Call Manager.
5. To assist with the ordering of materials for all types of maintenance work.
6. Respond to instruction given via the Estates maintenance reporting system. Complete any paperwork required to record time and materials used. Feedback to Estates Officer on any further action required for the work to be fully completed.
7. To be able to drive and hold a clean current driving licence.
8. Any other duties as delegated by the Estates Officer/Head of Estates relevant to the post/department.
9. To participate in appropriate training as required by this position and determined by the Estates Management Staff.
10. Taking account of H & S and current legislation, interprets technical information, interpret operational manuals.
11. To be able to prioritize own workload and manage their responsibilities appropriately.
12. Occasional, incidental, non-clinical telephone contact.
13. Assist and provide support for processes, policies, guidance, SOPs and maintenance of Mechanical & Electrical policies, guidelines, legislation and statutory duties.
14. Participates in the Trust’s staff survey as and when required.
15. No direct management for staff, although at times may have a shared responsibility of training apprentices.
16. To ensure electrical inspection, testing and maintenance records are maintained and updated.
17. Maintain and provide assurance reports on the status of compliance of electrical requirements and statutory duties.
18. Carry out surveys, create and maintain records, reports and other documents as necessary to support maintenance of the built environment for which responsible.
19. To negotiate with departments for access to allow maintenance to be undertaken explaining technical issues to non –technical staff.
20. Ability to take on new learning relevant to new assets and equipment as part of the upgrade replacement and capital programme.
21. To assist Estates Officer in the maintenance of stock and supplies for the Estates Department.
22. To take part in governance training as and when required.
23. To work outside his/her trade in the event of an emergency or as directed by the Estates Officer/Head of Estates.
