The Role
NHS Lanarkshire are looking to recruit a Biomedical Scientist to work across all three acute NHSL sites.
As a Biomedical Scientist you will process a broad range of specialist and routine laboratory diagnostic investigations in Microbiology using a range of scientific measurements and technical procedures on patient samples and provide advice to clinicians and other healthcare staff as to appropriateness of tests and time-scales. You will be responsible for your own work and use specialist training to operate complex equipment and solve problems, act as a mentor to less experienced Biomedical Scientists, and participate in training/supervision of Trainee Biomedical Scientists and Medical Laboratory Assistants.

What we'll need you to bring
* State registration with the Health Professions Council is mandatory (HCPC)
* BSc honours degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent, which is acceptable for Health Professions Council registration.
* Formal evidence of specialist knowledge of a range of discipline specific procedures.
* Evidence of continuing professional development, for example, a specialist portfolio of development, attendance at specialist courses, training on new instrumentation and learning through reflective practice.
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

This role will be based in Microbiology within NHS Lanarkshire Wide.
The working pattern for this role: Participation in backshift, evening, weekend and on-call is required.
