Head Registered Veterinary Nurse at Goudhurst Veterinary Surgery for 30 hours a week – Up to £35, per annum DOE
Goudhurst vets is small animal and equine practice located in the picturesque village of Goudhurst. Our veterinary team comprises dedicated and experienced veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and friendly and welcoming receptionists. We are proud to deliver gold standard and personalised care to our clients and their pets. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open six days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care.
We are searching for a Head Nurse to join us for 30 hours a week where you will support a team of highly dedicated and client / patient focused RVNs. As the Head Veterinary Nurse, you will assist the Practice Director and Head Vet with the daily operations, lead a dedicated team of RVNs, SVNs, and PCAs, inspiring them to reach their career goals while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture across the practice.

The Head Veterinary Nurse role includes:
2. Responsible and accountable for leading and mentoring the nursing team.
3. Responsible and accountable for the delivery of all CVS services in line with the scope and quality required by CVS and for ensuring a customer service culture.
4. Responsible and accountable for all aspects of nursing team management; including recruitment, selection, development, absence reporting and monitor in line with CVS policy.
5. To undertake all aspects of the RVN and Advanced RVN roles as set out in the corresponding job descriptions.
6. Ensure high standards of infection prevention and control, adhering to regulatory guidelines.
7. Regular team meetings and training sessions will be facilitated to encourage collaboration and professional growth.
8. Implement and track improvements in work practices to boost efficiency and enhance client satisfaction.

To be considered for this exciting role:

22. Ability to work as sole charge nurse
23. Clinical Coach preferred
24. Ideally experienced in management and training student nurses (Head Nurse/Deputy Head Nurse ideal)
25. Strong focus on exceptional patient care and customer service
26. Team player with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
27. Self-motivated, with a positive and enthusiastic approach
28. Strong organisational, administrative, and attention-to-detail skills
