Job Description
As a machine assembly technician, you will be expected to work with limited supervision, at times at the direction of others, to build, debug and test workstations and equipment to engineering drawings, sketches or other documentation. At times parts may need fabrication or altering as part of the assembly process. Work includes integrating other assemblies and equipment. A machine assembly technician should perform work at the lowest cost consistent with quality standards, design requirements and completion schedules.
Essential Functions
* Assemble parts to engineering drawings or other documentation.
* Build and test workstations and equipment being built.
* Fabricate or alter parts as required.
* Integrate feed systems and other automation equipment into assemblies.
* Communicate problems to Lead in a timely manner.
* Work as a team to maximize productivity and quality.
* Provide assistance to others.
* Show a constant interest in learning other activities or skills.
* Participate in job reviews when appropriate.
* Document changes on prints for job reviews.
* Maintain fabrication equipment in good order. Clean equipment when breaking down setup.
* Maintain orderly work area and cleanup work area at the end of the day.
* Be consistently at work and punctual; clock job times accurately.
* Participate in continuous improvement efforts.
* Train customers on equipment when necessary.
* Demonstrate application of acquired knowledge from Lean training.
* Observe company policy, safety and security procedures.
* Perform all activities in conformance with the AGR Quality System and ISO procedures.
Requirements
* Knowledge of fits and tolerances and ability to assemble such fits.
* Knowledge of pneumatic drawings and ability to layout, assemble and debug these systems.
* Basic knowledge of control and vision systems.
* Ability to setup and operate fabrication equipment including drill presses, millers, lathes, rotary tables and sheet metal equipment.
* Ability to machine parts to +/- .003 of an inch tolerance and to size holes using reamers and hones.
* Ability to work with hand tools used for assembly processes.
* Ability to weld.
* Knowledge of proprietary vibratory product line.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings or other documentation and to work to verbal instructions.
* Be able to identify problems and debug equipment being built in a timely manner.
* Be able to work well with others in problem solving situations.
* Utilize most efficient resources for fabricating and measuring parts being made or altered.
* Be able to operate Forklifts and Manlifts.
* Be knowledgeable in math.
* Valid driver’s license and US passport.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Material handling equipment is available at all times.
* Regularly required to use hands for a variety of tasks.
* Must be able to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
* Ability to walk, stand and sit, occasionally to climb, balance, stoop, kneel.
* Frequently lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
* Good vision and eye/hand coordination.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime is on an as needed basis and at the direction of the Operations Supervisor.
Travel
Travel with reasonable notice, for installation, training and service work.
Education and Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Toolmaker or Machining background, minimum of four years machining experience.
