Financial Controller | Derbyshire | £70-80,000 + bens
We are working with a rapidly expanding company who are looking for a dynamic and commercially-minded Financial Controller to join the Senior Leadership team. This role will play a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy of the company.
As Financial Controller, you will provide high-quality financial management to senior stakeholders, including the Head of Finance, Finance Director, and Managing Director. You will be responsible for end-to-end financial reporting, cash management, and internal controls to maximize profit and ensure financial stability. Leading a team of finance professionals, you will drive excellence in all aspects of financial governance, ensuring that business performance is effectively communicated and understood across all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and consolidate financial reporting across business units, ensuring accuracy and clarity for senior management.
2. Control the balance sheet to ensure it reflects the true financial position of the business.
3. Manage bank accounts, relationships, and cash flow forecasting in partnership with the Finance Director.
4. Oversee and enhance the internal control environment, identifying and implementing improvements.
5. Manage taxation matters such as corporation tax, VAT, and CIS.
6. Lead financial management services for central functions, including budgets, forecasts, and performance reviews.
7. Ensure successful delivery of compliance processes, such as audits.
8. Provide effective leadership and development to the Finance Manager and Finance Assistant.
Who the Client is looking for:
1. Qualified Accountant ACCA, ACA, CIMA.
2. Strong commercial acumen and experience in central finance functions.
3. Proactive, resilient, and skilled in managing complex financial reporting and control environments.
4. Able to influence across departments and play a pivotal role in driving profit and cash improvements.
5. Proficient in ERP systems and financial reporting processes along with expertise in Microsoft Office tools, with strong planning and organizational skills.
