Visitor Experience Officer - Godalming Summary The chance to work in an entirely new property for the National Trust is a rare thing. In this role you’ll be a key part of the dedicated team working at Munstead Wood and developing our in-person visitor experience, as well as our digital offer. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in equal instalments. Averaging 2.5 days per week, but typically 2 or 3 days per week depending on the time of year. There will be infrequent weekend and evening working. What it's like to work here You’ll be reporting to the Site Manager at Munstead Wood. As a member of the small but supportive team here, you’ll quickly get to know your colleagues, the property and the atmosphere of the place. This is an exciting project to join, working to open up Munstead Wood in a way that has never been possible before. You will get the chance to work closely with all parts of the team. You’ll be central to the development of the experience at Munstead Wood. You can get the chance to influence how we engage and inspire people from this beautiful garden and gain a unique insight in how a new National Trust property is developed. What you'll be doing Day to day tasks will include creating digital content, maintaining social media channels, monitoring the property emails and completing key compliance checks. You'll have experience of creating digital content, and tracking feedback and audience response. Though the property is closed to visitors, we do welcome guests for various purposes. This is an operational role and you’ll be a key part of the creation and running of events. You’ll have experience of customer service delivery and be proactive in learning about the history of Munstead Wood. You’ll be part of the team that provides guided tours to guests and will be supported in creating engaging visits for those people that we can welcome to the property. You'll support the site manager in setting up volunteering and take on volunteer supervision as required. Using your knowledge and experience at the property you will help develop the induction and training plans for new volunteers. You’ll have some duty responsibilities, acting as duty officer, and ensuring the security and safety of the property. You’ll be one of the keyholders for Munstead Wood and provide support for our external security contractor. Who we're looking for We’d love to hear from you if you: Have experience of delivering engagement and interpretation to audiences and using feedback to develop those offers. Have experience of creating digital content. Are a team player but can work to your own initiative and prioritise your own workload. Have experience of visitor operations and customer service. Are used to managing, supervising and working alongside volunteers and community partners Are flexible and adaptable, and able to move easily from one task to the next.
