The role of Workshop Manager will have full ownership and responsibility for the shop floor as the Directors give large amounts of autonomy to their leadership. This role will be responsible for maintaining a smooth process, minimising errors, reducing delays in production, and ensuring the team hit deadlines. The Workshop Manager will also be responsible for:
* Full oversight of a team of 26, including both fabricators and office staff, ensuring the team are motivated and monitoring their efficiency
* Managing the full production process from the moment designs are passed to the workshop through to either shipping or installation at customer locations
* Creating intelligent production plans to ensure on time delivery for projects of varying size
* Reacting and adapting to changes on the floor as required to ensure the team meet agreed customer deadlines
* Striving to ensure the team are producing a high-quality product with minimal errors
* Highlighting opportunities for upskilling and development of the team
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Workshop Manager role you will need:
* Experience operating in an engineering or workshop environment, preferably within sheet metal, fabrication, or machine shop
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and upskill, as well as delegate and effectively plan for incoming projects
* The desire to be fully responsible for the day-to-day operations of the workshop
