About the role
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our industrial laundry facility. This role involves managing staff, driving efficiency, ensuring quality control, maintaining equipment, optimising processes, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations, exceptional leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the laundry and our new site upgrade, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all processes.
* Staff Supervision: Manage, train, and support a team of employees, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
* Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are met consistently.
* Efficiency gains: Ensure we are set up optimally to be the most efficient we can be and drive this across all shifts.
* Process Optimisation: Identify areas for improvement within the operation, implementing changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
* Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of stock and utilise this stock holding to ensure we deliver to the customer in full.
* Customer Service: Work closely with the Customer Service team to support them to ultimately deliver the best possible customer experience.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments.
* Reporting: Prepare regular reports on operational performance, including productivity, quality, and financial metrics.
Key relationships:
* Director of Operations - You will report to our Director of Operations. They will be your first port of call for anything related to your key responsibilities and day-to-day workload.
* Sales & RevOps teams - You will work alongside the Sales and RevOps teams to manage customer complaints and escalations from an operations perspective, reduce churn and revenue loss.
* People team - You will work closely with our People team who will support you in all recruitment and people-related tasks.
* Project Manager - You will work with or be consulted on key projects and initiatives to ensure continuous improvement in our operations.
Requirements
These are some of the key qualities and competencies required in this role (categorised under our 4 performance pillars):
Technical competency:
* Experience in an industrial laundry or similar environment is essential.
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
* Strong knowledge of operational processes and how to scale them.
Technology, automation and IT literacy:
* Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions to improve operations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, G-suite and familiarity with warehouse management software.
Leadership and collaboration:
* 2 years in a managerial role, managing a team in a target driven environment.
* Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Self motivated with a strong inquisitive nature and desire to implement effective change within your area of responsibility.
