We seek an experienced senior digital leader with a proven track record in business systems management. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) the Chief Digital Officer will develop a strategic roadmap for the group's digital services, focusing on maximising the power of AI and automation, systems/API integration and connectivity, operational efficiency, and dashboard/data analytics to support business growth.
You will lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and transformation of the group's digital infrastructure overseeing all digital systems. You will drive key decisions to ensure smooth operations and lead strategic digital initiatives.
The Chief Digital Officer will have 2 direct reports and will report to the Chief Executive Officer.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership on digital and IT services for the group and lead the implementation of the digital business strategy, setting policies, processes, and metrics to integrate systems and processes.
* Oversee the IT budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost control. Manage IT procurement processes, ensuring the best value for money.
* Developing and executing a data strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives. Ensuring seamless integration of systems and processes, removing duplication and streamlining workflows.
* Lead the development and use of dashboards and data analytics to provide actionable insights and enhance decision-making maximising the use of existing data sources.
* Maximise the use of AI and automation to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness of the learner and employer journey.
* Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring that the group of companies receive high-quality, cost-effective IT/digital support services.
* Maintain an audit list and cost profile of all software, digital, and IT systems procured by the group.
* Formulate and implement robust business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure the availability of network services and data in the event of disruptions or emergencies.
Essential skills
* Detailed experience of digital change projects and implementation of an IT and digital-focused strategy, with a large consideration around data and automation.
* Has executed a data strategy optimising the use of data from multiple data sources.
* Proven business acumen and resilience.
* Leadership/management experience.
* Experience in SQL-based solutions (highly advantageous).
* Strong professional communication and presentation skills.
* Full driving license, own vehicle and willing to travel across South Wales.
Technical Responsibilities
(Many of which will be done by the team and the outsourced provision)
* Office 365 administration
* Network administration (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN access, backups).
* Administration and maintaining the business-critical systems and services.
* Administration and maintaining SQL databases.
* Administration and maintaining Power BI and data analytic systems.
Hours: 08:30 16:30 the working location is 1-2 days a week in Cardiff and 3 days from home
