Job Title: Missile Systems Design Engineer
Salary: £35,000 to £55,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Stevenage
Dynamic (hybrid) working: Our Dynamic Working policy allows flexibility around when and where you work, depending on team agreements. Typically, this role requires 3 days per week on-site.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK National with British citizenship required.
Restrictions related to nationality and work rights may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), managed by our Personnel Security Team.
The Opportunity: Missile Systems Design
Are you a systems engineer driven by a passion for supporting our Armed Forces? Do you want to advance your system engineering skills while working on cutting-edge defence projects?
As a Missile Systems Design Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in the product development process, working on evaluating technical requirements, developing product specifications, and using system design and modelling techniques to study system behaviour and support key design decisions. You'll manage verification and validation plans to demonstrate the functionality and performance of innovative missile system designs. Working as part of a diverse engineering team, you’ll help create new and innovative solutions for our products.
Key Responsibilities
* Apply systems engineering practices across the ‘V-model’ to develop complex products.
* Utilise systems engineering tools (e.g. DOORS, Rhapsody) and languages (e.g. SysML) where applicable.
* Manage engineering work packages to deliver valuable outcomes, coordinating with engineering teams and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
* Build and manage relationships with partners, including customers and suppliers.
* Apply Defence, Military, or Aerospace standards and design assurance processes to ensure product quality.
* Continue to develop and grow your systems engineering skills.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in systems engineering, ideally within the defence or aerospace industry, government, or Armed Forces.
* Familiarity with systems engineering tools (e.g. DOORS, Rhapsody) and languages like SysML (desirable but not essential).
* Experience in managing engineering work packages and coordinating efforts across teams.
* Strong ability to build relationships with partners, customers, or suppliers.
* Knowledge of military standards or aerospace design assurance processes (beneficial).
* A desire to continually develop and refine your engineering skills.
