We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented senior analyst to join our team and play a vital role in shaping our policies and services through data-driven insights to support safeguarding for Bedfordshire.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include applying advanced techniques from analytical disciplines to interpret complex data, ensuring that data and statistical findings are clearly communicated to both statistical and non-statistical audiences. With your track record of producing detailed analysis, you will be able to coordinate input from various stakeholders, manage resources, and support the safeguarding partnerships in achieving business outcomes. Additionally, your understanding of performance management frameworks, statistical techniques, and knowledge of equality legislation will be key to success in this role.
About you
We are seeking someone with a keen attention to detail, able to analyse and interpret large amounts of data and provide actionable insights. Your ability to consult, advise, and effectively present findings to diverse audiences will be essential. You will be skilled in managing your own workload and coordinating input from various partners to support achievements in business outcomes.
Your ability to foster strong relationships both within the council and with external partners is crucial, as is your understanding of how equality issues impact performance and intelligence analysis. You should have experience with statistical methods, Business Objects Reporting, and advanced Excel techniques, along with a solid foundation in performance management frameworks and new initiatives. Your education in Maths/Statistics at NVQ3 or above, or relevant professional experience, will be key to succeeding in this role.

Application Process
Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare all unspent cautions and convictions; and also any adult cautions (simple or conditional), and spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020). A person’s criminal record will not in itself prevent a person from being appointed to this post. Applicants will not be refused posts because of offences which are not relevant to, and do not place them at or make them a risk in, the role for which they are applying. However in the event of the employment being taken up, any failure to disclose such offence, as detailed above, will result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Authority.
