Job Description
The Participation Manager is a creative and organised professional dedicated to delivering Tramshed's vision of inspiring and engaging the community through participatory arts programs. This role oversees the planning, management, and execution of Tramshed's participation initiatives, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity. The Participation Manager will project manage workshops and engagement programs, primarily based at Tramshed's Woolwich venue and across the Borough of Greenwich. They will identify and address community needs, create new opportunities for young people, and work to remove barriers to arts participation. Additionally, the role includes co-leading safeguarding responsibilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. This position requires collaboration with internal teams and external partners, as well as leadership in budget management and program evaluation. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping and expanding Tramshed's outreach and engagement efforts, reinforcing its role as a vital community arts hub.
This role offers flexible working arrangements, with some days per week from home and the majority based at the Tramshed.
Job Requirements
1. A proactive, self-sufficient approach with strong leadership and organisational skills.
2. Passion for the transformative power of performing arts and community engagement.
3. Experience as an arts facilitator or in a supporting role (e.g., support work, SEND provision).
4. Proven project management and administration experience.
5. Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
6. Proficiency in MS Office and digital tools for program coordination.
7. Ability to lead and support teams, collaborate effectively, and manage partnerships.
8. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
9. Financial management skills, including budgeting and resource allocation.
10. Knowledge of the arts, youth work networks, and safeguarding best practices (desirable).
11. Experience working with diverse and marginalised communities (desirable).
Job Responsibilities
1. Oversee and deliver Tramshed's participatory programs, ensuring high-quality engagement.
2. Develop and maintain partnerships with arts organisations, schools, and community groups.
3. Recruit and manage workshop leaders, volunteers, and placement students.
4. Support marketing efforts for participation programs, ensuring strong community outreach.
5. Manage program budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and efficiency.
6. Monitor program impact, collecting data and feedback for evaluation and reporting.
7. Co-lead safeguarding responsibilities, ensuring compliance with policies and best practices.
8. Act as a keyholder and Duty Manager during participation events.
9. Identify opportunities for skill development and training for staff and volunteers.
10. Promote accessibility and inclusivity within all participation initiatives.
