We are sourcing a 3D Generalist to join our team here at Brighton Zoo, to work on an interactive game project for a major art gallery. Reporting into your Team Lead, you will have 3D modelling, rigging, and animation experience to create a variety of game assets.
This opportunity will be offered on a short term fixed term contract, due to start late April 2025. We’d like the ideal candidate to work in our Brighton studio 2-3 times per week.
The successful candidate will need to be based in the UK. We are unable to consider VISA sponsorship at this time.
Day to Day:
* Designing, creating, modelling, texturing, testing and maintaining a broad variety of different game assets.
* Designing user-friendly rigs, and troubleshooting technical issues with our developer as they arise.
* Creating bespoke animations for individual assets and animated effects - these will be applied globally across the users’ creations.
* Actively engage in creative thinking sessions with the team, contributing fresh ideas to enhance our digital content and projects.
* Work closely with our interactive production team to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality assets, communicating regularly with your Team Lead.
* Managing your time efficiently to meet the deadlines of your assigned assets.
* Responding positively to, and acting on, notes and feedback from your Team Lead.
Must have:
* Ability to be organised and keep track of assets, scripts and tools.
* Good knowledge and experience of working in either Maya or Blender or both - and asset export pipelines for the integration of game assets.
* Some experience working in low poly 3D art styles.
* Strong understanding and knowledge of a 3D games pipeline, including modelling, rigging and animation.
* Organised, proactive and confident with the ability to manage and prioritise a diverse and fast-paced workload.
* Strong collaboration skills and the ability to thrive as a team player.
Bonus points:
* Experience working on web-based javascript games, particularly utilising the Play Canvas games engine.
* A passion for making educational content for children.
