Join a respected, career-focused firm with over 30 years of experience in legal services. We’re looking for a dedicated Public Law (Care) Solicitor to handle public law matters, focusing on care cases and supporting our commitment to professional growth and development.
As part of our team, you’ll manage your own caseload with a focus on the Children’s Act and public law, providing legal advice and representation to our clients in Magistrates and County Court. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years PQE, though strong applicants with less experience will be considered. Membership of the Children’s Panel is preferable, or a commitment to becoming a member, with a passion for continued learning encouraged.
Responsibilities:
* Handle public law (care) cases with a primary focus on matters related to the Children’s Act.
* Provide expert legal advice and representation in Magistrates and County Court proceedings.
* Act as a skilled advocate, demonstrating thorough knowledge and competence.
* Independently manage your caseload, while benefiting from the guidance and support of our experienced team.
* Collaborate within our established firm, providing support for colleagues and contributing to our legacy of success.
Requirements:
* Qualified solicitor with at least 2 years PQE (candidates with less experience will be considered).
* Comprehensive knowledge of the Children’s Act, particularly in public law contexts.
* Preferable membership on the Children’s Panel or a commitment to membership.
* Competence as an advocate in the Magistrates and County Court, with Higher Courts Advocate qualification as a plus.
* Proven ability to manage a caseload with support as needed, demonstrating both independence and team orientation.
