The Opportunity
As a Project Manager for Hinkley Point ‘C’ (HPC), you’ll provide leadership to ensure the effective delivery of the Civils Programme, while managing its broader impact on the overall project. Reporting directly to a Senior Project Manager, you’ll oversee the full life cycle of the non-classified HVAC contract, from engineering to commissioning, for various industrial buildings.
You’ll be responsible for delivering systems such as ventilation, air conditioning, and fire safety systems in line with the project’s safety, quality, time, and cost requirements. Your expertise in this field, combined with strong leadership skills, will ensure the project meets all objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for defining the work scope of the assigned contract or package, ensuring it integrates seamlessly with other programme elements. You will collaborate with the project team to secure necessary resources, monitor personnel needs, and ensure resources maintain the required skills and qualifications. Additionally, you’ll develop and implement strategies and plans in alignment with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP), ensuring the project is effectively organised, managed, and delivered.
You’ll oversee the delivery of contract activities, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and meet business and technical requirements. By monitoring progress against milestones and budgets, you will keep stakeholders informed and address any discrepancies. You will also proactively manage risks, resolve issues, and update the programme budget as needed, escalating critical matters to the Senior Project Manager where necessary.
Your role will include maintaining accurate Level 3 schedules, reviewing contractor schedules, and ensuring all deliverables are met according to the contract. You will apply Earned Value Management (EVM) and Continuous Improvement principles while fostering knowledge-sharing and best practices across the project. Additionally, you’ll work to ensure all contractual requirements are fulfilled and maintain effective working relationships with project team members and stakeholders.
Who You Are
As a Project Manager at Hinkley Point ‘C’, you bring a strong foundation in project management, with a deep understanding of EPR design and its application in complex projects. You have demonstrated leadership in managing large-scale engineering initiatives and multi-discipline EPCM projects, while applying your knowledge of CDM regulations and nuclear quality standards. Your ability to use tools like estimating, scheduling, risk management, and Earned Value Management ensures successful project delivery.
You possess excellent analytical, and critical reasoning skills, paired with effective presentation, influencing, and facilitation abilities. You should hold a degree and chartered status in construction, engineering, or a related discipline. Experience working within regulated environments, like the nuclear sector, and knowledge of commercial arrangements such as NEC and FIDIC enhance your ability to manage complex contracts, costs, and risks efficiently.
We’re looking for someone with a proven track record of engaging multi-level stakeholders, managing commercial claims, and leading projects from concept to handover. You will have experience in construction activities, procurement, and negotiation. Your ability to ensure safety, security, and environmental responsibility in technically dynamic environments is key to your success.
