JOB TITLE: Performance Nutritionist
DEPARTMENT: Performance Sciences - (0.5FTE Academy and 0.5FTE Loans, initial 9 months will be focused full time on the Academy which will then transition to 50/50 Academy and Loans split)
LOCATION: Chelsea FC Cobham Training Ground and travel as required to support athletes on loan.

Through the way we are structured, integrated, collaborative and focussed on moving the performance dial forward with a targeted and objective approach to athletic and football development. The role will be part of a wider community of practice group who strategically and systematically develop performance nutrition across all of Chelsea FC’s entities creating a true performance advantage through our collaboration and network.
This role is vital in supporting our player development pathway within the club and will significantly contribute to developing a best in class performance support that will evolve to be the envy of other teams and organisations.
About the role
This role is vital in supporting, delivering and driving forward the performance nutrition strategy for the male academy and loans department. The role will be 50/50 split in time between each function and will be responsible for providing high level, evidence based nutritional support that optimises the performance of our players, contributing to the maintenance and development of a world class high performance development environment.
Your skills, experience and personal traits
The successful candidate will be SEN registered or possess an international equivalent with a higher level degree in performance nutrition or closely related subject area. You will have 5+ years of experience in elite sports environment, with youth or player development experience being essential.
Football experience is desired but not essential; however, the ability to develop novel thinking and proactive solutions to novel performance problems is essential.
We are looking for an emerging leader in their field who will come on board with what we are trying to develop at Chelsea FC. We want you to be an active member of our community of practice and internal nutrition network and have a thirst for delivering a strategy with others and developing new ways of working particularly in the Loans space where this is a new provision.
