Cresconova Labs in London UK seeks a Makerspace Manager and Instructor capable of working with students from ages 8 to 18. The ideal candidate will possess a meaningful background in teaching centered in design thinking, building maker space courses and has experience with hybrid learning models. Interdisciplinary thinking will be critical to success in this role. With a supportive CCO, this position is ideal for someone ready to step in, lead with passion, and effectively co-manage our new center.
Cresconova Labs is looking to engage with candidates who employ an entrepreneurial mindset in their approach to education and would bring that skillset to teaching in our collaborative, interdisciplinary, project-based courses. Successful candidates will possess content and pedagogical expertise, a dedication to collaboration, and a creative, flexible approach to design instruction. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
• Monitor and act as aide for instructors offering courses within content area
• Ensure all operations comply with safety, hygiene, and safeguarding standards.
• Management of a variety of tools ( not limited to the following)
* Knowledge of rapid prototyping tools
* Ceramics
* Fabric Design
* Wood shop
* Desktop CNC
* AR/VR
• Oversight of machinery in all classrooms
• Ability to work independently
• Open communication with CCO
• Collaborative work with colleagues on in-person and hybrid courses
Required Qualifications:
• Right to work in the Uk
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
• A minimum of 3-years successful teaching experience with students in primary and secondary education, or demonstrated professional competency
• Experience teaching Architecture, AutoCAD, and 3D Design
• Experience with inquiry-based and/or project-based learning
• A passion for learning and the ability to motivate and inspire students
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive community
• Willingness to take on multiple roles within the learning center
• Personal traits appropriate for nurturing the growth of children – must be energetic, creative, flexible, and patient
Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree in academic/research field and/or professional experience within your area of practice
• Demonstrated capacity and desire to teach across multiple disciplines/subject areas
• Experience in and desire to build culture and community with both adults and students
• Demonstrated experience in establishing collaborative relationships with external partners/organizations
