Description ABOUT YOU As a Senior Scientist you will work as a senior member of the Laboratory with accountability for leading, managing and driving the TQA promise. You will demonstrate your expertise within Bioanalytical and have the confidence to provide support and guidance on specific techniques to both Colleagues and Clients. Required skills and experience: A skilled Bioinformatician with expertise in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), and experience of whole genome, transcriptome (RNAseq) and targeted sequencing Extensive knowledge in the use of various applications to develop and validate data analysis pathways and ability to generate scripts (e.g. R, Python etc) if needed Capable of generating reports detailing the interpretation and presentation of NGS data Able to assimilate and develop new techniques and technologies within laboratory, in line with business need. Detailed understanding of theoretical basis of the Molecular assay techniques, supporting a diverse range of client requirements for biopharmaceuticals. To maintain a “state of the art” knowledge in relevant NGS technologies and platforms. Enthusiasm and ability to generate and technically review multi-technique reports. Ability to problem solve technical challenges autonomously. Demonstrate innovative method development as required, drawing on literature as required, in line with business needs and opportunities. Demonstration of excellence in client communication and service. Oversee NGS projects for clients and act as the point of contact for all aspects of technical guidance in the development, validation and implementation sequencing Provide technical expertise and training to team members, provision of training and development of junior staff members In collaboration with Business Development, support the generation of quotes of work and bidding activities related to NGS projects Generate procedures and implement processes, including SOPs, test methods or other documents Provide technical input for related molecular projects Look for opportunities to expand molecular capabilities, with a specific focus on NGS Prepare reports and present data as necessary internally, for clients, or at conferences WHAT WE OFFER Join Intertek and become part of our global network of inspiring and entrepreneurial colleagues.
