How you'll make a differenceAs a Credit Risk Analyst you will be undertaking a wide range of analytical activities that will require collaboration with other functions across the Society. You will be performing analysis across the Credit Risk lifecycle to support monitoring of the portfolio and gain understanding of emerging credit risks.
You will:
* Ensure our key credit risk controls such as lending policy, affordability and scorecards are operating effectively. You'll proactively identify areas of risk/or opportunity to ensure these controls remain robust and appropriate.
* Develop, produce, and enhance Credit Risk reporting, highlighting emerging trends as well as supporting the production of papers for Working Groups / Committees.
* Develop bespoke high quality, insightful and accurate analysis to understand the drivers of identified trends, providing recommendations to management to mitigate risks and to support the optimisation credit strategies on an ongoing basis.
* Maintain business relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
* Analyse portfolio and customer data. Build an in-depth understanding of the internal and external data held across the society drawing insight to inform the risk exposures and assurance levels across our mortgage lending portfolio.
* Provide support for new product launches and lending policy changes and be responsible for supporting associated Post Implementation Reviews
* Conduct benchmarking of the credit risk profile of the Society versus peers and other competitors and draw conclusions as to rationale for difference and opportunity for improvement.
* Maintenance of effective documentation across all relevant processes and procedures.
* Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory rules and guidance applicable to the role.
What you'll bring to the role:
* Working knowledge of SAS, Python, SQL or equivalent coding experience.
* Some experience in Credit Risk within Financial Services.
* Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
* A logical and analytical mind with a passion for solving complex problems.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to write in a professional style and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
* Competent using Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
* A degree, ideally in a numerate discipline (e.g., Maths, Statistics).
* Previous experience of working with Mortgage portfolios (Desirable).
