About the Role: As Financial Services Director, you will oversee the finance department, financial reporting, planning and appraisal, and corporate taxation, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and financial regulations. This role will provide leadership, expertise, and direction to key departments, including managing a high-performing team of financial professionals. You will work closely with Directors and Heads of Service across the Group, providing financial leadership and strategic guidance on critical decisions. This is a senior leadership role where you will also deputise for the Executive Director, attend Board meetings and support the Board, manage the Group’s financial stability, and drive the continuous improvement of financial processes. Key Responsibilities: Maintain the financial stability and viability of the Group, delivering high-quality, cost-effective financial support services. Lead the finance function, overseeing financial planning, capital accounting, project appraisals, and financial modelling in alignment with the Group's strategic objectives. Deputise for the Executive Director as necessary, providing financial leadership and direction. Oversee the preparation of annual budgets, financial reports, and business plans, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement financial strategies to improve efficiency, performance, and value for money. Lead and motivate a team of finance professionals, ensuring the achievement of high performance and customer-oriented service. Contribute to key corporate projects, working groups, and initiatives that support the Group’s goals. What We Are Looking For Qualifications : A degree in a relevant field and a professional accountancy qualification (essential). Experience : Senior management experience in finance, particularly in a complex, dynamic organisation. Proven ability in financial planning, management reporting, and project management. Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing and developing teams to achieve high performance. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders. A commitment to continuous improvement and value for money, with experience in delivering excellent services in a housing environment (desirable). Additional Skills and Knowledge: A strong understanding of financial legislation, taxation, and accounting standards. Ability to work under pressure, managing priorities and deadlines effectively.
