As Senior Officer R&E Culture, you will lead on the development and implementation of an R&E culture strategy and action plan and work with faculties to manage a portfolio of initiatives that will have a positive university-wide impact.
You will oversee the planning, management, monitoring and reporting of specific institutional funding, including QR and HEIF, working with staff across the university to ensure the funding is allocated to eligible activity that has the maximum impact. You will also lead on the planning, design and implementation of internal funding calls.
You will develop and deliver a range of regular innovative initiatives to support university-wide collaboration and deliver training on all aspects of R&E culture, linking with other teams in RED and beyond for maximum benefit and impact.
We are looking for someone with a high level of emotional intelligence who has the ability to develop strong working relationships with staff at all levels across the University to ensure quality service delivery, demonstrating political awareness, diplomacy and tact. You will need excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively in all situations to varied audiences; the ability to work in a challenging environment, adapting to changing priorities and timescales to meet deadlines; demonstrable significant experience of working in an R&E function in the higher education sector; demonstrable understanding of R&E culture including both external and internal influences and drivers; and experience of managing internal projects or funding calls. You will need knowledge of concordats and initiatives to enhance R&E culture e.g. EDI, DORA, Athena Swan and enthusiasm and evidence of a proactive approach to continuous service improvement.
