We have an INCREDIBLE opportunity for several Children's Care Workers to join a FANTASTIC 5-bedded Children's Residential Service in Telford rated OUTSTANDING with Ofsted, supporting children & young people between the ages of 8-18 who have experienced early childhood traumas in the Health and Social Care Sector.
Supporting young people in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, you can enable them to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.
Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence and a car.
Salary: up to 26,567 per year (inclusive of sleep-ins)
Location: Telford (TF1 postcode)
Hours: Full-time, 39 hrs per week
Shift pattern: 12/24/48 hour shift pattern - there is some flexibility here for the right candidates to work long days / 1 on 2 off shift pattern or 2 on 4 off shift pattern.

Responsibilities of a Children's Care Worker
* Encourage young people to engage in activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
* Maintain the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
* Manage challenging behaviours when necessary.
* Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
* Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
* Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
* Ensure safety and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the individuals' care plans, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred methods of communication.
* Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
* Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
Requirements of a Children's Care Worker
* A full UK Manual Driving Licence is essential (and you must have been driving for a minimum of 1 year) due to the location of the home and the requirements of the role.
* Experience within a children's residential setting or with challenging behaviours is an advantage.
* Candidates with experience in Sports Coaching, Camp America, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, the Guiding and Scouting Movement, or Youth Work are encouraged to apply.
* Must be aged 23 or over, due to the oldest child in the setting and the policies of the organisation.
