We have an exciting vacancy for a Housing Management Officer on a permanent, full-time contract for 37 hours per week. Every day, we respond to the needs of homeless clients in temporary accommodation, ensuring our accommodation meet health and safety regulations. Our goal is to provide a safe, secure environment and help people get back on their feet quickly. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in housing management, preferably within the social housing sector, with a strong understanding of building maintenance and repair issues. You should be skilled at identifying and addressing health and safety compliance matters. With excellent communication skills and the ability to work efficiently to deadlines, you will demonstrate effective time and resource management. About the team The Housing Management Team is a small but busy team providing an extensive and responsive property management service to homeless clients placed into temporary accommodation, procured by the council. Sitting within the Welfare and Housing Service we suppprt each other by working closely together to achieve the right results and to deliver a holistic service to clients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Key responsibilities You will deliver an efficient, high quality and customer focussed service, providing day-to-day management of temporary accommodation. You will ensure service users are assisted to settle into their accommodation and support them to integrate into the community. You will manage temporary accommodation tenancies, investigate and deal with customer enquiries and complaints. You will make placements into accommodation pending decisions, manage temporary accommodation transfers, undertake suitability assessments to ensure properties are suitable and affordable. You will be responsible for the timely move-on into more permanent accommodation in order to discharge the council’s rehousing duty in line with the Allocations Policy.
