Job summary
We need a motivated and enthusiastic midwife to support, co-ordinate and lead the Triage Department and Day Assessment Unit, in delivering a high standard of evidence-based care for all pregnant women/people and their families.
To provide clinical and professional leadership to midwifery, nursing and support workers maximising job satisfaction for the team. The individual will provide a specialist and advanced contribution to the provision of maternity services ensuring delivery of high calibre care and efficient use of facilities, workforce, and other resources. Working within the multidisciplinary team to ensure women and birthing people receive seamless maternity care.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the continued implementation of BSOTS and implementing audit and data collection relating to this. The post holder will engage and lead on the Ambulatory Care Forums alongside the Consultant lead for Triage. They will be required to lead on actions from this and contribute to developing pathways in conjunction with the relevant specialist leads. They will also be responsible for managing the use of the triage recording system to enable service improvement and facilitate the service user feedback and complaint process.
Responsible for the effective management of staffs contracted hours, sickness, absence, training through electronic rostering system and planning and reviewing daily staffing in collaboration with the matron and in line with trust policies - for the areas that include Day Assessment Unit (Eastbourne & Conquest), Maternity Triage (Conquest) cross site.
Promote a clean and safe environment for staff, service users, their families, and visitors by ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and protocols including health and safety, healthcare associated infection prevention, clinical governance, including risk management and critical incident reporting.
