As Service Engineer within NOV’s Rig Aftermarket (RA) Team you will be responsible for the repair and inspection of NOV Rig equipment globally both offshore and onshore. As part of our aftermarket service group you will make recommendations to customers which ensures equipment continuously operates at efficient and profitable levels. As Service Engineer within RA NOV, you will react to ‘rig down’ situations as top priority and support installation and commissioning projects on products ranging from Rig Floor Equipment (RFE), and Pressure Control Equipment (PCE).
As a Service Engineer within RA NOV, you will be homebased within mainland UK and be expected to travel globally on an ad-hoc basis. You will receive full training on product lines by NOV training personnel and will gain on the job training accompanied by experienced NOV Service Engineers. Key to this role and your development will be your participation in the NOV Global Competency Program. A strong foundation to your success in this role will be your ability to interpret engineering drawings/schematics, and carry out fault finding on various pieces of equipment. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Escalate key faults or product failures to relevant department and progress through to resolution.
2. Inspects NOV equipment for conformance with operational standards.
3. Respond to emergency calls for Rig Down situations when required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
4. Time-served Engineer (essential).
5. HNC in a relevant engineering qualification or equivalent (desirable).
EXPERIENCE:
6. Working knowledge of installation, commissioning, overhaul, fault finding and repair of heavy machinery or in an automation field (essential).
7. Working knowledge of hydraulics/pneumatics manufacturing environments (essential).
8. Working knowledge within a similar position either offshore or in an automation field (desirable).
SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:
9. Ability to interpret engineering drawings/schematics (essential).
10. Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and Outlook) (desirable).
