The post holder will be required to work in an integrated Multidisciplinary Team focusing on adults suffering from a wide range of mental health problems. The post holder will hold a workload and be responsible for assessing patient needs, planning and implementing the care plan.
The post holder will provide supervision, guidance and support to junior members of staff. The post holder will be a role model and resource for members of the Mental Health Team by continuing to develop clinical practice and expertise in relation to their own clients. Ensure that the staff work in accordance with their Codes of Professional Practice and the standards expected by the Health Board.
Working in partnership with service users, other health and social care colleagues, and services in and outside Berwyn Prison, including HMPPS staff as appropriate, to achieve the best possible health outcomes for clients and contribute to reducing pathways to re-offending.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the mental health and learning disabilities services for an experienced, motivated, and forward-thinking practitioner to join a busy supportive team based at HMP Berwyn. The successful candidate will be joining at a time where services are under review and development in order to meet the changing needs of service users whilst gaining experience in offender health.
This service provides an opportunity to develop an integrated team offering specialist mental health provision to service users within the custodial environment. This will include primary and secondary mental health care caseloads with whom they will work alongside to formulate risk management plans and care planning based on robust assessment of need. This will be supported by a multi-disciplinary team-based approach.
We are looking for mental health practitioners with a core mental health background with demonstrable experience and training with complex needs. We are looking for a good team player who has excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize and manage their time effectively.
In addition, we are keen to develop employees and offer excellent progression through various career pathways and in continuing professional development opportunities such as an MSc in Health, Mental Health, and Wellbeing.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
