An exciting opportunity has arisen for a post within the Performance and Delivery division which sits within the Directorate of the Chief Operating Officer. The division leads on a range of work aimed at supporting NHS Boards to meet their responsibilities for patient access to NHS services, in particular delivery of the Scottish Government's target of 95% of people attending A&E to be admitted, transferred or discharged within Four Hours The post offers experience working in a politically sensitive area which attracts a high degree of media and ministerial attention. You will have the opportunity to develop their communications skills by working closely with senior officials and NHS colleagues. You will support with monitoring the pressures impacting on NHS Boards ability to meet targets and deliver services. This is a fast paced environment best suited to someone with strong organisational and communication skills. You will be required to be flexible to respond to priority areas of business need. The role supports the work of the Unscheduled Care team in the implementation of the Urgent and Unscheduled Care Collaborative Programme. The Performance and Delivery Division is made up of two teams Planned Care and Unscheduled Care. Responsibilities • Support with monitoring the 4-hour A&E target including review of weekly SITREP updates submitted by hospital sites, collating the information and providing challenge and support where performance is not in line with target / trajectories. • Identify trends in reporting from the boards and comparing this to Management Information and Published statistics to understand how local challenges are impacting on performance. • Work in collaboration with Centre for Sustainable Delivery (CfSD) to understand the impact of NHS Boards improvement plan on performance. • Provide briefing and secretariat support for Performance and Improvement Calls with Health Boards. • Support with all corporate activities including, SCANCE, MICASE, PQs and team budget support. • Provide briefing and routine updates for ministers / directors based on regular reports provided by health boards. • Build and maintain constructive relationships with all internal and external colleagues, in particular, but not exclusive to NHS Board contacts, CfSD and others working within the Primary Care and Social Care Divisions.
