We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and reliable Process Operator to join one of our clients based in the Selby area. We are looking for candidates with a positive ‘can do’ attitude that can work well as part of a team and that are keen to expand on their current machine operating skills whilst always adhering to health and safety procedures We would like to hear from anyone that has previously operated machinery in a production/ manufacturing environment, full training will be provided. Please note you will need to be computer literate for operating this machinery. The working hours are on a rotating shift pattern as below Week 1 Monday to Thursday 2pm to 10pm and Fridays early finish 1pm to 9pm Week 2 Monday to Thursday 6am to 2pm and Fridays early finish 6am to 1pm ROLE & DUTIES Take ownership to ensure you work safely to comply with health and safety requirements as detailed in the Company Procedures and Safe Systems of Work. Always maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe working environment for all colleagues. Set up the machine in accordance with targets, minimising down time and maximising efficiencies by working effectively as part of a team. Operate the machine to ensure the machinery operates at optimum run speed in accordance with targets. Support with preventative maintenance and breakdown activities to ensure the machine is in optimum condition and downtime is minimised. Carry out quality checks to ensure work is produced to agreed specifications and company standards. Identify and report issues as appropriate. Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues to promote successful teamwork. To participate in training programmes to become an experienced and efficient multi skilled Operator. Support the training of colleagues. Ad hoc support in other departments. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Excellent timekeeping and attendance. Displays a self-belief that instils confidence in others. Be brave to make mistakes and learn from them. Sees communication as a two-way process. Listens and values the opinion of others. Basic PC literacy or desire to learn. Demonstrates a clear logical approach, considering all aspects before reaching a decision. Ability, determination and persistence to seek out and act on the root cause of an issue. Has a structured, focused and organised approach to planning and prioritising their work. Uses procedures and appropriate tools to keep on track. Please note due to the nature of this role you will be required to do a Drugs and Alcohol test.
