This mechanical design engineer role is to be part of a building services design team delivering innovative and creative solutions. Project types range from science and research, advanced manufacturing, sport, education, defence, commercial and residential sectors.

Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Working as part of a design team delivering detailed design
2. Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams
3. Attending a range of project group and technical meetings
4. Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements
5. Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint
6. Designing site-specific equipment as required
7. Overseeing and supervising the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures
8. Using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the systems required for the project
9. Carrying out condition surveys and providing recommendation reports to clients
Qualifications:
1. Accredited Building Services degree or higher educational qualification (HNC/HND)
2. Post degree qualification experience in Building Services or Mechanical engineering, experience with running projects including calculations, drawings, specifications, etc.
3. REVIT, AutoCAD experience (experience with IES modelling and Revit would be an advantage)
