The Role As an Experienced DT Teacher (Food Technology), you will: Deliver high-quality lessons in food technology to Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5, inspiring students to master cooking techniques, nutrition, and food safety Collaborate on curriculum development to ensure the food technology programme is engaging, challenging, and aligned with both academic standards and student interests Guide students through advanced food-related topics such as sustainable food systems, the science of food, and the cultural impacts of food Assess student progress and provide targeted feedback to enhance learning outcomes and promote student growth Foster student engagement by encouraging independent learning and a deeper understanding of food-related issues, such as health, sustainability, and nutrition Mentor less experienced colleagues and contribute to the continuous professional development of the department Contribute to extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs, food events, and student competitions, enhancing the food culture within the school What We Are Looking For We are seeking an experienced DT Teacher (Food Technology) who can bring subject expertise, enthusiasm, and leadership to the department. You will have: ✔️ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related field ✔️ Significant experience teaching food technology at Key Stage 3 and 4, with the ability to teach Key Stage 5 a plus ✔️ Deep knowledge of food technology, nutrition, culinary arts, and sustainability ✔️ Strong leadership skills or the ambition to take on leadership responsibilities within the department ✔️ The ability to differentiate lessons and engage students at various levels of ability ✔️ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students ✔️ A passion for teaching and a commitment to the academic and personal development of students Why Join Us?
