Rates: £700 Daily Rate Inside IR35 via Umbrella
Clearance: BPSS (DBS/DS, Financial Probity, Employment History) + Medical Questionnaire & Proof of Right to Work in the UK
My renewable energy client is urgently seeking a Cable Design Engineer for a remote working role with occasional travel to their offices in Glasgow. Suitable candidates should be knowledgeable in ratings calculations, earthing considerations, and electrical calculations rather than burial tool assessments.
Responsibilities
* Technical input in support of Offshore Export cable selection and refinement.
* Co-ordination of cable route survey scopes and assessment of cable burial risk/opportunities across proposed routes.
* Development of Inter-Array cable layouts and optimisation.
* Provide definition of cable installation methodologies in support of project consenting inputs.
* Assessment of cable rating constraints along both onshore and offshore Export Cable corridors.
* Development of execution strategy for both Export and Inter-Array cables and development of project programme.
* Support in engagement with supply chain, ensuring project strategy aligns with market expectations.
You should demonstrate
* FEED stage into design, ideally in HVDC.
* Electrically design biased rather than installation manager experience.
* Knowledgeable in ratings calculations, earthing considerations, and electrical calculations rather than burial tool assessments.
