Role: Senior Specialist Pharmacist - Outpatient Pre-Operative Services Banding: Band 8a Location: Cambridge Start Date: ASAP Duration: Full-time Shift Pattern: 09:00AM – 17:00PM Rate: £34 - £39 per hour About the role: The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Specialist Pharmacist to join our Outpatient Pre-Operative Services team in Cambridge. This is a full-time position with working hours from 09:00 to 17:00. As a senior member of the pharmacy department, you will oversee a small team of pharmacists and contribute to our senior pharmacist team. We are committed to developing our line managers by providing access to leadership development programs to enhance their management and leadership skills. Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct independent consultations in the pre-admission clinic, advising on peri-procedural medicines management and making prescribing decisions. Lead the development of guidelines and policies in your area of expertise. Provide training and mentorship on perioperative medicines management. Maintain a small ward-based pharmacy role within the surgical pathway. Promote safe medicines management in Outpatients and Day Ward environments. Lead quality improvement initiatives or research projects. Deliver training sessions to various staff groups. Qualifications and Experience: Essential: M Pharm (or equivalent). Registration with the GPhC. Independent prescriber. Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy practice or equivalent. Previous experience in either surgery or critical care pharmacy services. Experience of undertaking project and audit work. Experience of leadership. Experience of supervising, mentoring, and teaching. Desirable: Membership of RPS and/or UKCPA.
