Job Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of our fast-moving, creative, and innovative team as we are looking for a new Business Development Manager Ingredient Specialties. This role is an entry point to a commercial role and sets you on the path to a Junior Account Manager position.
You will be responsible for developing, managing, and growing new and existing local food and beverage accounts. In addition, we count on you as an important member of the Northern Europe Team. You will manage sales to these accounts effectively, ensuring growth of the business together with other business units. You will work closely with our excellent teams in Innovation, Creation & Design, Marketing, Sensory, Supply Chain, and Operations throughout Europe. You are excited to find new ways of doing things and enjoy the power of teams. In this role, you report to the Category Sales Leader. You will have a unique opportunity to broaden your network with the extensive IFF teams of different functions in the UK/Ireland.
Developing and Managing Existing Business
* Manage and develop excellent customer relationships.
* Achieve profitable sales growth together with the customer.
* Optimize supply chain by providing accurate sales forecasts and streamlining order patterns for customers and IFF.
* Cooperate with Operations to manage order-related customer inquiries, ensuring that the customer receives the information they require when needed.
* Responsible for a healthy pricing strategy and contract negotiations.
* Work closely with IFF global procurement to share the latest insights on raw materials with customers.
* Accountable for all communications with the customer and keep the IFF Customer Service and Operations departments updated to ensure timely delivery of orders and all documents related to legal and quality issues and specifications.
* Ensure that IFF is recognized as a key partner to our customers with the objective of growing our joint business long-term.
Developing New Business
* Follow and understand market movements and translate them into new business opportunities.
* Initiate and implement customer activities such as creative workshops, trend & inspiration sessions, and innovation & technology experiences.
* Create and develop joint value creation for the customer and IFF.
* Build and manage relationships between the different functions at the customer and with IFF.
* Responsible for achieving the growth targets agreed by winning new business.
* Team building of the core teams, which includes the Commercial, Technical, and Marketing functions and individuals attached to each account.
* Provide all necessary information relating to the service of the accounts, including presentations to customers, arranging customer visits/workshops, responsible for offers/quotes/pricing, ordering and progress tracking of samples and required documentation, and keeping the customer up to date at all times.
* Responsible for managing new opportunities and projects, and their accurate and detailed entry into the IFF project systems for optimal business progress and project outcome.
* Manage the relationship within IFF with Creation, Application, and other teams and monitor project progress.
* Responsible for the project pipeline.
* Develop account and business development plans for your accounts together with relevant teams and experts.
Required Skills
* Preferably a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or food technology, or similar.

Required Experience
* Ideally some experience in a B2B or B2C Sales Management function, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
* If possible, relevant work experience in the area of taste design, specialty ingredients, flavors, and food markets.
Additional Information
* The position is hybrid with 3 days in the office when not traveling and the role is based in Wellingborough, UK.
* Up to approx. 40-50% travel required, mostly within the UK and also to other European locations when required.
