Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a Midwifery Duty Manager to join our team.
On a daily basis, be proactive in reviewing the capacity within the unit and supporting the midwives in effective and efficient discharge, ensuring staffing levels are appropriate to provide a safe service.
Provide leadership to midwifery and non-midwifery staff, ensuring effective management of the daily activity throughout maternity services. This will result in high standards of midwifery care, reduction in length of stay, and responsiveness to individualized needs, thus increasing client satisfaction.
This role will also support the Matrons and Team Leaders in sickness reviews, ensuring return to works are undertaken and any escalation required in relation to this is addressed.
You will have knowledge in improvement methodology and a proactive 'can do' approach, be highly motivated, and confident in managing challenging and changing workloads. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and will bring a strong patient-centered service approach to your role.
This is a new post, which will require a high level of initiative and resourcefulness to develop relationships and introduce systems and processes, including data analysis.
