Since 2022 care homes in Edinburgh have benefitted from Fringe performers. The programme has grown from 1 to 15 care homes. Edinburgh Interfaith Association now requires the skills of a cultural coordinator to manage and evaluate the programme.
Duties:
The Postholder will select and coordinate live entertainment from Festival Fringe performers for 15 senior care centres (14 in the Lothians and 1 in Stirling). Each performance will include one Main Stage performer and one Street Performer. Performances will take place on Saturdays and Sundays and some weekdays during August 2025. The Postholder will also provide evaluations for the programme with photography and videography recordings of programmes using equipment provided.
Conditions:
* The postholder is expected to commence on appointment in early April and conclude by the end of September 2025.
* Payment is £20 per hour for a maximum of 250 hours.
* Average time commitment is 9.5 hours per week. Weekend working etc is included in this role.
* Position holder will be a contractor and responsible for paying all taxes.
* Postholder will supply their own computer, mobile phone etc.
* Photography / videography equipment will be provided.
* Approved transport other expenses will be reimbursed.
Essential Experience and Skills:
* Excellent cultural coordination of live entertainment events experience of multiple years.
* Good time-management and project management ability.
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
* Good ability to document and process payments.
* Good ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative summative evaluation.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Basic photography and videography skills for interviewing and recording care home residents, staff, family and friends.
* Ability to lift and transport portable system weighing approximately 20 lbs.
* Experience in working with care home personnel and residents.
* Valid U.K. driver’s permit or knowledge of local public transport in Scotland.
* A passion for bringing live entertainment to care homes.
* Knowledge of Festival Fringe values and history.
