As a volunteer, you will help action our website goals to ensure that we are teaching the right audience and presenting in a professional manner.
What are we looking for?
1. Knowledge of best practice on the web including developing and iterating user journeys, usability, and accessibility.
2. Preferably a good working knowledge of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript and other modern web technologies and standards (general coding).
3. Ability to work with no code/low code software (Power Automate, Jotform, etc).
4. Experience of using content management systems.
5. Good level of information technology education.
What will you be doing?
Kainé has served the City of Leicester for 20 years providing services under Arts, Community & Education headings. Our services include:
1. Arts Community choirs.
2. Private performance and bookings.
3. Our Annual Programme of Events.
4. Community Delivery of our youth-focused projects.
5. Running projects for Seniors.
6. Support sessions for Refugee and Asylum Seeker Young people.
7. Education Primary and Secondary school personal development programme, focusing on working towards a dream, particularly for BAME students struggling with mainstream education.
8. Social Action society aimed at year 12’s onward, aimed at fostering positive progression and retention of black students.
9. Peripatetic teaching sessions in school for years 7 – 10.
10. Supporting the development of HE students in the local community.
Kainé Management is at a pivotal point in its development. A comprehensive 5-year vision is being planned, as well as a renewed focus and purpose in light of the impact of the pandemic on our end users. In order to deliver an ambitious program in collaboration with local government, business, partners, and communities, Kainé Management is seeking an individual to update, add, and maintain our website.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Updating website content on WordPress/Wix templates in line with commercial decisions (including text and image updates).
2. Using image editing, HTML, and CSS, and WordPress/Wix to modify themes, pages, and page elements.
3. Coordinating, monitoring, and maintaining all website content to ensure it is accurate, up to date, written in plain English, and meets usability and accessibility standards.
4. Designing, building, amending, monitoring, and archiving webpages and e-forms to meet the needs of the Council and ensure search engine optimization.
5. Working with services on a daily basis to ensure that the structure of Kainé's websites and e-forms meet the needs of customers, both internally and externally, and adhere to local government web standards.
6. Providing support to all services on content related inquiries for all websites and e-forms.
