Job Description Our in-house recruitment team play an important part in ensuring Avon and Somerset Police continue to deliver an outstanding police service to our communities. We are responsible for recruiting talent into the organisation and providing a professional and efficient recruitment service for our hiring managers. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is looking for their first step into HR or Recruitment, you will receive full training in all our recruitment processes and systems and work alongside an experienced and supportive team. We Have Three Positions Currently Available 1 x 37 hours (permanent) 1 x 37 hours (fixed term contract, approximately 6 months) 1 x 30 hours (permanent) All positions will work office hours covering Monday – Friday, and will include a 5pm finish. The role You’ll be instrumental in ensuring we attract and recruit great candidates to fill a variety of roles, engaging with applicants to advise and support them through their recruitment journey and ensure all the required documents are in place for each new hire. You will also be required to attend recruitment events, such as Job Fairs, Open Days, Information Events and Assessment Centres. These recruitment events help to expand your knowledge, are a great way to help develop additional skills and add variety to the role. Sometimes these events are held outside of your normal working hours therefore flexibility in start and finish times would be required. Our office is based at the beautiful Police and Fire Headquarters in Portishead, with free parking and a range of great on-site facilities. However, we work very flexibly and this role can largely be performed from home. There is however, the requirement to work with colleagues on a regular basis in the office to support a variety of activities and events, these days will be agreed with you in advance. What It Takes To be successful in this role you’ll need to be an excellent communicator with a passion for providing first class customer service. You’ll need to be able to work to deadlines and prioritise your workload as we receive high volumes of applications. You are likely to have previous experience within a customer service role and thrive in a busy working environment. However, no experience is necessary and full training will be given, we’re looking for great team players who are willing to learn and grow with us. You will hold a full current driving licence or be able to travel around the force area using alternative transport. Why Avon and Somerset Police? Additional Information This is a blended working role, therefore you will have the opportunity to work from home and also at Police Headquarters, Portishead. This role works office hours, and to support events and recruitment activity there is the requirement to work outside of office hours including evenings and weekends on a regular basis, across the force area.
