Products are trusted by major housing developers and distributed via electrical wholesalers, merchants, and DIY retailers.The company has experienced consistent growth, with a UK turnover exceeding £85 million. ROLE OVERVIEW We are looking for a talented individual to take on the following key responsibilities: Product Development: Work closely with manufacturing partners to develop electrical products, establishing product specifications, creating product briefs, identifying applicable standards, and evaluating product samples. Testing & Quality Control: Lead product testing or coordinate external testing efforts. Investigate and resolve any product-related issues that arise during the development process. Product Labelling & Documentation: Define product and packaging labelling requirements, including packaging labels, instruction leaflets, and technical data sheets. Collaboration with Quality Team: Partner with the Quality Team to investigate product issues, compile findings, and drive product improvements with external manufacturing partners. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products adhere to relevant BS EN safety standards and regulations, including EMC, REACH, and RoHS. Technical Literature: Create and maintain technical documentation, such as product specifications, packaging specifications, instruction leaflets, and data sheets. Support & Data Management: Keep up-to-date technical files, including WEEE data and packaging weight information. ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Educational Background: Degree or qualification in an Engineering discipline with a focus on electrical or electronics engineering. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product standards, and a quality-oriented approach to problem-solving. Product Understanding: Ability to identify key features and benefits of electrical products. Electrical Installation Knowledge: Familiarity with electrical product applications and electrical installation practices, especially on building sites, would be advantageous. Standards & Legislation: Knowledge of British and European Standards, along with relevant legislation governing products within the extensive portfolio. Factory Collaboration: Experience working remotely with offshore factories to develop products. Regulations Knowledge: Ideally, knowledge of IET Wiring Regulations. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Highly organised and methodical approach to tasks.
