Royal Sussex County Hospital - Imaging Department
The opportunity has arisen to recruit Band 3 HCAs to join our friendly team in the Interventional Radiology Department in Imaging.
We have 3 Band 3 roles:
1. Interventional Radiology at Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
2. Radiology General (which covers CT; MRI; Ultrasound; Fluoroscopy) at Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
3. CT Department at Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath.
You will be required to assist qualified nurses, radiographers, and radiologists in giving a high standard of quality care to our patients and will support the team in the smooth running of the department. You will be required to work as part of the multidisciplinary team, maintaining a professional and caring manner. You must be experienced in coordinating lists/clinics/procedure planning and working with multidisciplinary teams. You must have good IT skills and be able to learn new speciality-specific systems.
Full Time: 37.5 hrs/wk between the hours of 08:00 to 18:00. Includes late shifts of 12:00 to 20:00 and weekends. A typical shift would be 7.5 hours or 9.5 hours dependent on your agreed shift pattern.
Main duties of the job
* To actively and safely participate as a member of the nursing team and contribute towards the smooth and efficient running of the department, particularly in Ultrasound and Interventional Radiology areas.
* To assist the nurses, sonographers, and radiologists in giving individualised care to the patients and managing patient flow effectively.
* To give excellent service to patients with respect and compassion, supported by effective communication and customer care skills.
Person specification
Education and Experience
* Good standard of general education to include Maths and English GCSE at grades 4 and above / C and above or equivalent.
* Care Certificate Level 2.
* Previous experience of working in an Imaging Department OR similar clinical environment.
* Good interpersonal skills and use of the English language.
* Well written personal statement.
* Level 3 Educational Qualifications and/or extensive experience in a relevant healthcare setting.
* Skilled in aseptic techniques such as sterile trolleys.
