Records & Retention Officer Location: Clearwater CourtContract: Full Time - 36 hours per week (Hybrid)Salary: Up to £58,000 per annum (depending on experience)Our client is seeking a Records & Retention Officer to support their mission of delivering essential services to millions of customers each day. This role is key in shaping how the organisation manages and governs its information - helping ensure data is not only well-organised but also compliant with industry regulations and internal policies. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the management of both electronic and paper-based records across the organisation. Develop and implement effective records retention policies and standards. Establish and manage a comprehensive records management system. Collaborate with teams and projects to create retention and disposal schedules for new and existing IT systems. Ensure policies are enforced and aligned with data protection regulations such as GDPR, Freedom of Information, and other legal standards. Provide training and guidance to staff on records management best practices. Regularly assess compliance with data-related legislation and internal data governance policies. About You: Proven experience leading a records management function. Strong understanding of data lifecycle management and data governance. Familiarity with data protection regulations (such as GDPR) and records compliance. Knowledge of data architecture, databases, and modern storage solutions. Ability to drive change across complex data ecosystems and support organisational transformation. Experience developing and implementing data quality standards.
