Our client is representing a patient who suffered a stroke during a routine surgery. This individual was not informed about the stroke and only discovered what had happened around six months later. As a result, she has missed out on important treatments and therapies that other stroke victims would have benefited from. These therapies are typically facilitated to aid in the recovery process, and without them, recovery can take longer and significantly impact the patient's life, work, and general well-being.
We are seeking an expert opinion from a Neurologist to determine how this has affected the patient and how she is still impacted, as well as how this may affect her in the future. We would also like to understand the difference these missed therapies and treatments would have made to her recovery, considering consequential illness, time of recovery, and stress.
The solicitor for the patient is bringing forward a claim for delay in treatment, and a secondary possible claim of misdiagnosis, breach of duty, and causation. The solicitor is uncertain who will be best suited for this report, so we are happy to discuss with a suitable Neurologist. We can supply medical and nursing records.
