Zenith People are working with our client who is a manufacturer based in the North-East and is looking to recruit an experienced Production Technician on a permanent basis.
SALARY: Competitive depending upon experience; the client is willing to review CVs/Salary on a case-by-case basis.
Working Hours: Day Shift Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Carrying out repairs to automated production lines.
2. Perform planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the maintenance program.
3. Ensure planned maintenance is scheduled with minimal impact on production time.
4. Keep a suitable range of spares in stock to cover most breakdowns.
5. Ensure suitable external contractor engineers are on hand to help as required.
6. Perform a daily walk-around to ensure all machines are set and running correctly.
7. Ensure all SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are carried out to standard.
8. Maintain and keep up to date all equipment log books and record machine maintenance.
9. Work closely with the Quality Department to ensure Corrective and Preventative Action training is completed fully and promptly.
10. Strive for continuous improvement across the plant.
11. Operate machines in manufacturing and packing areas.
12. Ensure all tooling and change parts are stored correctly to prevent deterioration and/or damage.
13. Inspect and polish tooling ready for the next production run.
14. Advise when tooling and change parts become overly worn and require replacing.
15. Keep records and logs of tooling.
16. Ensure tools are in good condition and well maintained.
